The Design-Build Process

At Novene we take exceptional pride in delivering quality outcomes. In design-build, the contractor, designers, subcontractors, and the project owner work together as one team to build a project that meets or exceeds the owner’s expectations. Team members focus on communication, collaboration, and solving problems together on a best-for-project approach. Because of the increased efficiencies of design-build, the owner can take on as much or as fewer duties as they  prefer and with less risk. The design-builder will step in for much of the risk management, potential legal burdens, and administrative tasks.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Project Definition

Focused on understanding the project requirements, objectives and desired outcomes. In this we will;

  • Listen to your needs, wants, and dreams for your project as we walk through your idea together
  • Discuss the general feasibility of your project
  • Explain our process and project management while providing thoughtful answers to your questions

2. Concept design & optioneering

Keeping in mind what is feasible and within the desired cost range, we will;

  • Create a first-round design of your project
  • Meet you with our design team to provide feedback on the first iteration of the design for your project
  • Revise the design until it is best suited to your needs and desires
  • Work together with you to select the materials, fixtures, and finishes for your project
  • Provide you with a no-obligation Pre-Construction Agreement with an hour-based estimate and design drawings

3. Detailed design

Developing the architectural and engineering design. In this we will;

  • Develop the working drawings, determine scope of work and cost estimates
  • Finalize project schedule and resource selection
  • Provide you with a no-obligation Construction Agreement with work-based estimate and working drawings
  • Process permits and approvals

4. Construction

Mobilizing teams and resources to deliver the project;

  • We will schedule, carry out and supervise all of the work to ensure the fit and finish of every detail throughout the construction process and keep the project on course.
  • Our online based project management platform will provide you direct communication with our team and all the information (construction schedule, specifications, plans, detail drawings, progress and issues) at your fingertips.
  • We schedule regular site meetings with you and our team to review the details as they come together to ensure the project turns out as you envisioned.

After construction is complete we address any documentation required and close out and yet again we have built another great relationship with a happy client.
